has a new book, Wonderful 1 fabric curves, coming out. She will be here Aug. 20 for a trunk show/lecture & class. Kay is known for her enthusiastic teaching methods and for incorporating exotic fabrics into her quilts in unique ways. She is a self-described "shopaholic" and loves to collect fabrics from around the world for the ultimate stash. Kay thrives on being able to teach others the joys of designing one-of-a-kind quilts with one fabric. Her quilts have been juried into a number of prestigious international quilt shows, exhibited at the Michigan Women’s Historical Center, and featured on a "Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine" cover. She and her husband, Rollie, live in Laingsburg, Michigan.The lecture is at 10am and is $15.00. The class on no pin drunkards path blocks, is $40.00. Class space is limited.

Quilt Gathering- Calling all quilters. Join us for a day of quilt networking. Catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Bring your show & tells so everyone knows what you’ve been up to. Bring along some hand sewing, sit back and have a cup of coffee or tea. Door prizes on the hour. We will have some demo stations set up so you can learn or refresh some techniques. We will also have a light lunch available for $5.00 or you may bring your own. Stay for a few hours or the whole day if you like. Saturday Oct. 1, 10am – 4pm.

Quilts for Vets
Anyone who would like to help make quilts for these wonderful people, we be meeting on the 3rd Wed. each month from 11 - 4. Grab some fabric from your stash; it doesn’t have to be only red, white or blue. We will have some simple patterns or you can make any pattern you would like. These quilts will be going to Veteran’s Hospital. They are looking for small quilts approx. 48" square.
Quilt Camp –
Every month we hold a quilt camp - they are 3 days long. You can work on any project you would like. Here’s how it works - Bring in everything you need, set up your station, sew to your hearts content. Have some coffee/juice and a donut, sew a little, have a little lunch, talk to a few friends, sew some more. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. I will provide the food. The cost is only $25.00 for 3 days or $10.00 a day if you can’t come all 3 days.
July 5,6 & 7 or Aug. 2, 3 & 4, from 10:30am – 4:30pm.
Sit-n-Stitch
- Open sewing for anyone who would like to get outand sew with others. Bring any sewing project you would like, hand or machine. If I'm not busy with other customers and you need help with something I am happy to help. You may use our mats, rulers and irons so that you don't have to bring a lot of stuff. There is no charge and we never know how many people will show up. Fri. 10:30 - 4 and Sat. 11 - 4.
Girls Night O
ut – This is not your grandmothers quilting group. Jennifer will be your hostess. She is married with a new baby and making some quick simple accessories for her home and baby. Join her on the 3rd Wed. each month to share ideas and make simple projects. You may work on your own project or get an idea from the group. This is a great chance to get out and meet new people. Bring along a friend for more fun. 3rd Wed. each month 5 – 9pm. $2.00 drop in fee.All Dolled U
p – The 3rd Sat. 1 – 3:30pm, This group will be working on doll clothes for Goodfellow Dolls. Carol will provide patterns for the clothes, we will have some scrap fabrics here or you can pull from your stash. You can work on clothes here or take patterns home. Pat also teaches this on the first Thursday from 5:30 – 7:30. Or you can join us for applique sit-n-stitch.

Sew What’s New
Many of you know my daughter Jennifer. She fills in for me sometimes. She and her husband Beau welcomed their first baby, Brayden William into the world on March 29th. Mom and baby are doing very well. He was a little early but was a healthy 6lbs. 5oz. Thank you for all your well wishes.

I would like to thank all of the ladies and gentlemen that went on our first bus trip to the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati April 7 & 8. We had a very nice time and without you this trip would not have been possible. I believe we will do it again next year. Again thank you.
